DR SHILPA OBERAI

Born in 1982, our female dentist Dr Shilpa has worked for majority of her dental career in a suburban dental practice in the south of Hobart in Tasmania, regularly operating at Hobart day surgery doing cases under general anesthesia.

Her genuine compassion and calming nature has helped many a nervous patients and children. In the 8 years she worked in Hobart she had a keen interest and so further developed and trained in root canals and aesthetic dentistry through advanced course’s.

Her focus on skill development and a passion for professional growth guided her move to Sydney in 2017. She continues operating under general anesthesia at warratah private hospital Hurstville and National day surgery  Kograh to be able to treat kids of all ages for all procedure when required.

Dr Shilpa maintains a keen focus on early interceptive orthopaedics, sleep management for children, relationship between tonsil and airway, dental crowding. With a growing reputation in these exceptional fields, Dr. Shilpa is often referred cases from other practitioners. Her daughter has taught her the patience required to manage young children and she believes a good start with dental examinations allows the children to have long term good oral health.

Fields of Professional Development
Advanced Laser training (Laser Life Care Institute in New Zealand), IAADent course in comprehensive orthodontics, Multiple EODO weekend courses with Dr Derek Mahoney (leading orthodontist of Sydney), actively involved in symposiums and conferences, learning about new advances and technologies, hands on training in Endodontics and complex extractions.

DR DHRUV OBERAI

Born in 1980, Dr. Dhruv always wanted to be a dentist like his father. He spent his growing years watching and understanding what his dad did. He started his career as a co-owner of a dental practice with his father who is a specialist prosthodontist and Implant dentist.

Dreaming of a different lifestyle and to enhance his skill and exposure, he left Delhi for Australia where he gained his Australian accreditation in 2006. He worked in one of the most reputed practices in Hobart and made another move to Sydney in 2017.

Dhruv is committed to ongoing professional development. He has focussed his training around head and neck pain that is jaw and muscle related, its treatment with injectables, bone grafting, full mouth rehabilitation, implants and cosmetic dental and facial treatments including the latest techniques in stem cells and growth factor.

Apart from a passion for dentistry he is equally passionate about cooking and tasting foods of different cuisines.

ASID (Australian Institute of Implant Dentistry) graduated 2011, AADFA (Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics, 2015), Sleep and Airway health in kids (multiple weekend lectures and conferences), Somnomed training for snoring appliances for adults (2017), Annual FDI conventions with international speakers (attended 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016), ADA conventions, Training in sinus lift and bone augmentation (2018) through GIDE under Dr Sascha A.
