At Dental Solutions Oatley, we offer general anesthetic treatment carried out at Waratah Private Hospital. Your dentist may suggest treatment be carried out under general anesthetic for a number of reasons including the treatment of young children, complex treatment cases or if a patient has other medical conditions that may be better managed in a hospital setting. Patients are also able to request treatment under general anesthetic if preferred or if they are found not to be a suitable candidate for sedation treatment at Dental Solutions Oatley surgery. General anesthetic brings on a sleep-like state with the use of a combination of medicines and usually uses a combination of intravenous medicines and inhales gasses.
At Dental Solutions Oatley, we offer sedation treatment in our surgery rooms. Nitrous Oxide (Happy Gas)
Anxious about your visit to the dentist? All doctors at Dental Solutions Oatley are trained to safety administrate nitrous oxide (also commonly known as happy gas) that can be used to help calm patients. Nitrous oxide treatment is a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen which is inhaled through the nose. Unlike sedation treatment, nitrous oxide treatment does not leave you feeling sleepy or disorientated, this means you are able to return to your day as normal whether that be going back to work or driving to school pick-ups. For more information, please discuss this opinion with your dentist.
